Join Gena Foreman and Stacy Whittingham for this wonderfully curated cultural yoga retreat in Peru’s Sacred Valley.
We will be staying at Willka T’ika, a luxury eco-friendly sanctuary located between the world heritage site of Machu Picchu and the Incan capitol of Cusco.
Wake up each morning surrounded by lush gardens, flowing water streams and views of the Andes Mountains. We will start the day with a grounding yoga flow, followed by a vegetarian breakfast.
Afternoons will be filled with adventure. We will explore Machu Picchu, visit a local Quechua community, check out nearby Incan ruins, shop in colorful local markets and hike to neighboring salt flats.
Evenings will include participating in shamanic ceremonies, gentle yoga and breathwork.
We will be fueled and nourished by chef prepared healthy vegetarian breakfasts, lunches and dinners that will allow you to explore the culture of Peru through flavor and food.
This retreat is perfect for yoga practitioners of all abilities who are looking to integrate more cultural experiences and self- care into their daily lives.
All levels of yoga practitioners are welcome.

Tentative Retreat Itinerary
Cusco Day 1
SAT SEPT 13
Transfer from the Cusco airport to your hotel.
Plan to arrive in Cusco by 11am to acclimate to the altitude.
Late afternoon walk to the Korikancha Temple, the holiest site during Incan times.
6:30 pm: Delicious Peruvian dinner. (D)
Cusco & Sacred Valley Day 2
SUN SEPT 14
AM: Visit the Inkan site of Saksaywaman overlooking the city of Cusco.
PM: Enjoy a picnic lunch, then drive to Willka T’ika in the Sacred Valley through spectacular Andean mountain scenery. (B. L. D)
Fire Ceremony Day 3
MON SEPT 15
AM: This day is dedicated to Pachamama, Mother Earth. Relax in the splendors of nature and enjoy a tour of the Seven Chakra Gardens.
PM: After lunch, participate in coca leaf blessings with our very special Q’ero healer, and a sacred “Despacho” ceremony offered before dinner at 5 p.m.
After dinner, our shaman invites guests to an authentic and transformative Andean fire ceremony to honor Pachamama, yourself and your loved ones. (B. L. D)
School Visit & P’isaq Day 4
TUES SEPT 16
AM: An ayni day. Drive through the Sacred Valley to a Quechua mountain school supported by the nonprofit Willka T’ika Children’s Fund.
PM: Hike up the P'isaq ruins or walk quietly in a silent personal vision quest. Return to the main square and visit the famous, colorful market filled with woven goods, jewelry, wall hangings and hand-painted beadwork. Enjoy café or tea in the market square. Return to Willka T’ika for a late afternoon group session before dinner. (B. L. D)
Machu Picchu Day 5
WED SEPT 17
AM: Early breakfast. Tourist train to Aguas Calientes. Tea/coffee and snacks served on the train. A bus takes you to the sunlit terraces of Machu Picchu. Enjoy a guided tour of the ancient “City of Light.” Experience a journey through the masculine energy temples of political and spiritual power, followed by a deep reconnection of feminine earth energies.
PM: In the afternoon, lunch at a restaurant in town, and time to explore town. Afternoon train back to Ollantaytambo where you will transfer to Willka T’ika in time for a late, light dinner. (B. D)
Ollantaytambo & Maras Day 6
THURS SEPT 18
AM: Visit the ceremonial site of Ollantaytambo and its famous Sun Temple. Lunch on own in the quaint picturesque town.
PM: Optional activities: Enjoy an Andean Spa treatment, or crystal light therapy session. For the more active, choose from a variety of hikes, including the nearby Maras Salt Flats and activities through the valley and up the mountains. (B. D)
Urubamba Day 7
FRI SEPT 19
A special day of mindful integration at Willka T’ika.
Optional activities: A guided morning hike to the town of Urubamba through farming neighborhoods, visit a typical, lively Peruvian market, a wonderful alpaca factory, and the famous Seminario ceramics shop.
1:00 pm: Lunch

Departure Day 8
SAT SEPT 20
10:00 a.m. Check-Out. Group transfer based on 10 a.m. check-out to the Cusco airport to connect to Lima, and outbound flight home.
From Willka T’ika, allow 3 ½ hours before your Cusco flight.
Ideal flights to schedule depart from Cusco between 2 pm-5 p.m.
Additional costs will apply for any individual transfer for guests with earlier/later departures & can be arranged onsite. (B)
